The American Film Theatre

A series of 15 companion documentaries to accompany the re-issue of a series of 14 feature films made in the early 1970s collectively known as The American Film Theatre.  These films of great works of theatre, made with internationally famous directors and stars, have remained largely unseen since their release.  Interviewees include directors Arthur Hiller and Sir Peter Hall , actors Alan Bates, Topol and Susannah York, writers, Simon Gray and David Storey and Oscar^®-winning cinematographer David Watkin among others.
